New month but took a hit.

We move from August to September and now it’s downhill from here until we hit the winter solstice on the 21st December. The nights draw in and the warm weather departs. It’s particularly painful for me during these times with anniversary after anniversary of deaths. But I have to remain upbeat. My tipster soccer page on Skype is growing in numbers and there is a lot of excitement for the new soccer season. I launched my second system just over a week ago and we had a nice hit on Sunday when a 14/1 odds football team scored just like predicted. But moving back to poker. A new month means a new start. I’ve lost the last two months in my training and now the slate is clean again, I am going to be trying really hard to keep in profit for this month. But it does follow me around, not believing that is. I have picked up a very bad habit and it’s costing me dear. Once I see a player capable of bluffing, I just never believe when they raise and shove. I lost a full buy in on my site that ...

So we have lift off!

Just a short note to say, I have officially started and I have called this the, Plaza Cash Challenge. So I have played an handful of hands thus far. It’s still only been a couple of days and I’ve been rough with my chronic back pain which really restricts my ability to play any poker. I do not know why or how I’m so bad, but it is really painful. But like I said, I have played some poker, but I’m guessing about 50/60 hands. Playing on a iPad limits the number of tables I can play and this is going to be a conflict for quite some time to come. Whilst I am still learning in BPC, I do not see the point in playing up to10 tables. Yes, when I know it all and it flows without thought, but not when I’m struggling and particularly during a downswing which I am definitely not use to. I have started on the €4 tables and the play is a good standard. Nothing like when I attempted the first challenge way back in 2006. The play then was awful at best. So I will have to work for this challenge. ...

An so we begin another and possibly last poker cash challenge.

27/08/20 In just one day, I will have been a member of BPC for exactly one year.  So what is BPC? BPC stands for Best Poker Coaching (I didn’t make that name up). It’s a training site for poker players. In 20 years of playing poker, well 19 yrs if you count last year before I signed up, I had never thought about having any poker training. I was struggling with life in general and losing my daughter the year before aged just 31 ripped the life out of me. So I wanted to do something to occupy my mind and so I decided a poker training site. I chose BPC because they have what’s termed a CFP (Cash For Profit), in other words, they train you but take a cut of your profits up to what the contract is worth. In my case it’s for €5000. If you do not win in any month, you do not pay, simples. So it’s in their best interests to make sure you learn correctly. I had never played 6 max cash games before, so this is what I signed up to learn. I knew how to play 6 max, it’s just I never bothe...
